About Me

jabaributler.jpg

Technology and Accessible Virtual Event Production are the two things that encompass almost everything I do. Whether I am ministering, teaching, speaking or developing plans for a start-up business, I am always looking for innovative ways to make media and technology inclusive to improve our lives and community. In addition to technology, I enjoy biking on weekends or training for a triathlon at Stone Mountain near my home in Atlanta, Ga. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family over a great meal.

If you are interested in inviting me to speak or provide training at your event or for your organization, I would enjoy the opportunity. Below are some of my favorite topics to bring to an audience, but I am open to many more:

  • Healthcare Technology And Your Future

  • NonProfits Using Technology - Including Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) to Accomplish It’s Mission

  • How To Use Zoom and Other Virtual Event Platforms for Your Next Event

  • Launching a Start-up

  • Strategies for Making Your Virtual Event Accessible

My previous experience included successfully leading an IT department through two OSVs, and I leveraged this expertise to contribute to the project's success.

    • As a Virtual CIO Service provider, I provided expert advice and support for the development and evaluation of specific information and technology systems within the defined project scope for HEAL. This includes collaborating with HEAL's team on tactical planning and coordination related to these systems.

    • I leveraged my expertise in IT procurement to advise HEAL's team on selecting suitable hardware, software, maintenance, and telecom services for the project. My role was limited to providing recommendations and did not involve finalizing agreements.

Community Service & Volunteerism

Community Service, Charity and Volunteerism is very important to me. Please click on the link below and learn more about support the National Benevolent Association.

https://www.nbacares.org/jabari-butler

I have a passion for equipping and empowering people to pursue their God-given dreams and goals. I'm a minister and an entrepreneur with successful businesses across a number of industries including wellness, healthcare, and higher education technology. I'm also active in civic leadership in the areas of public speaking, public health awareness, and business skills training.

I'm originally from Oakland, CA, but currently reside in Lithonia, GA, where I serve as an ordained minister at the Ray of Hope Christian Church and as moderator with Georgia’s Regional Board of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I'm married with one child.

Why did you say "yes" to the NBA Board of Trustees?

When I received the call from Mark Anderson and Rev. Monica Wedlock Kilpatrick about joining the NBA Board, I was in the process of wrapping up several years of service with the Georgia Regional Board, after having served on the Disciples’ General Board, and I was discerning about serving in another capacity. I still serve at my local church and with the Georgia Region, but God was also calling me to the strategic work of the NBA, and I eagerly expressed my interest in working with this powerful group. I wanted to serve God’s people, and God opened the door for me to join this winning team.

The NBA's vision statement is "creating communities of compassion and care." What does this mean to you?

In Matthew 7:12, Jesus tell us, “…in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” This Golden Rule encourages us to show compassion and care for others and know that we are blessed to be a blessing to others. Communities across the world are experiencing brokenness, despair, and lack of hope. Thanks be to God, the NBA is available and willing to lend a hand, to help others discern their call, and to help heal people all across the land, physically and spiritually.
